At MEI Group, publisher of the FlameFy and OKAST products, we recognize the importance of protecting our customers' privacy.
We want to be transparent about how we collect, use, transfer and store your personal information. This privacy policy applies to all the solutions we publish.
In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation adopted by the European Parliament on 14 April 2016 and the amended French Data Protection Act of 6 January 1978, MEI Group provides the following information.
01 Personal data
When you register for our service, we collect the personal information you provide, such as your name, telephone number and email address.
When you browse our websites, we also automatically receive your computer's Internet Protocol address, or IP address. This provides information about the browser and operating system you use.
02 Purposes of processing
When you register to use our service, we consider that you consent to our collecting your information and using it solely for that purpose.
If we ask you to provide personal information for another reason, such as marketing, we will ask directly for your explicit consent or give you the opportunity to refuse.
MEI Group may process your personal information:
- to provide the information or services you have requested, including newsletters, commercial offers, guides and white papers;
- to collect information that helps us improve our website, products and services, including through cookies;
- to contact you about events.
03 Recipients
MEI Group is the sole recipient of your personal information. It is never transferred to a third party, except to service providers engaged by MEI Group as described below.
Neither MEI Group nor any of its service providers sells the personal data of visitors to or users of its website.
04 Retention period
MEI Group retains your personal information only for the time required for the purpose for which it was collected, as described in Article 2. If we no longer use the information, this period will not exceed 36 months.
05 Disclosure
We may disclose your personal information if required to do so by law or if you breach our terms and conditions of sale and use.
06 Services provided by third parties
In general, the third-party providers we use collect, use and disclose your information only to the extent necessary to perform the services they provide to us.
Part of our solution relies on providers that supply technologies for hosting platforms, storing content and data, and managing banking transactions. MEI Group has verified that these providers implement appropriate safeguards and comply with strict requirements concerning data confidentiality, use and protection. Your data is stored in their data storage systems and databases on secure servers protected by firewalls.
Credit card information is encrypted in accordance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard, or PCI DSS. Purchase transaction information is retained only for as long as necessary to complete the order and is deleted once the transaction has been completed.
All direct payment gateways comply with PCI DSS, which is managed by the PCI Security Standards Council and supported by companies including Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover. PCI DSS requirements help ensure the secure processing of credit card information by our services and service providers.
Some providers, including payment gateways and payment transaction processors, have their own privacy policies governing the information we must provide for purchase transactions.
Some providers may be located, or operate facilities, in a jurisdiction different from yours or ours. If you proceed with a transaction that requires the services of such a provider, your information may become subject to the laws of the jurisdiction in which the provider or its facilities are located.
For example, if you are located in France and your transaction is processed by a payment gateway located in the United States, the information used to complete the transaction may be disclosed under United States law, including the Patriot Act.
Once you leave our website or are redirected to a third-party website or application, you are no longer governed by this privacy policy or by our website's terms and conditions of sale and use.
Links on our website may take you to other websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites and recommend that you read their privacy policies carefully.
07 Security
We take reasonable precautions and follow recognized industry practices to protect your personal data against inappropriate loss, misuse, access, disclosure, alteration or destruction.
If you provide credit card information, it is encrypted using SSL technology and stored with AES-256 encryption. Although no method of Internet transmission or electronic storage is completely secure, we comply with PCI DSS requirements and implement additional generally recognized industry standards.
08 Age of consent
By using this website, you confirm that you are at least the age of majority in your state or province of residence and that you have given your consent for any minor dependants under your responsibility to use this website.
09 Changes to this privacy policy
We reserve the right to amend this privacy policy at any time. Changes and clarifications take effect immediately after they are published on the website.
If we change this policy, we will indicate here that it has been updated so that you know what information we collect, how we use it and under what circumstances we may disclose it.
If our service is acquired by or merged with another company, your information may be transferred to the new owners.
